A Quick Update
31 July 2008
Wow, what a busy month July was at RM Asia Pacific. We
really have had our hands full with the release of Easiteach Antarctica
content pack developed by Australian educators, the current
Sales Campaign creating a rush on sales because it is an offer too good
to refuse and reviewing some new and exciting Easiteach content packs
soon to be released.
One of the best things about July though, is the support we have
received from a couple of our Easiteach enthusiasts who have produced
some amazing content to freely share with other Easiteach enthusiasts.
RM wishes to acknowledge the wonderful generosity of Jan & Ken
Polkinghorne (Speld SA) and Shane Long (Grade One Teacher) from
Hughesdale Primary in Victoria for taking the time to make available
their Easiteach activities through our FREE Downloadable shared
resources. Without the support and sharing of lessons from teachers and
users, Easiteach would not be where it is today, a well loved and
integral student learning tool within our classrooms.

SMART Boards and Easiteach… absolutely!
2 July 2007
Recently, we’ve had a few
people ask us about Easiteach’s compatibility with their
SMART Board, so we thought we’d clear up any misconceptions
out there in the marketplace.
At RM Asia-Pacific, we’re proud to make the
statement that our Easiteach software works with EVERY
interactive whiteboard. Be it a SMART Board, a Teamboard, an ACTIV
Board or a PolyVision board... it doesn’t matter what brand
of IWB you’re using – Easiteach will work with it!
It’s just one of the great features of the
Easiteach suite of products.
In fact, Easiteach sets the interactive software
standard for education because it works with other types of interactive
technology in schools, not just with interactive whiteboards. It's
clear why Easiteach is the teachers' favourite.
If you have any questions about the compatibility of
Easiteach and its use with a SMART Board, then please contact our Marketing Department.
Excitement as Teamboards and Easiteach Hit PNG
29 June 2007
In
October 2005, the Principals of Koroboro International School in Port
Moresby, Douglas Hales and Sharron Hales, expressed an interest in
introducing IWBs into the International School. In January 2006, their
vision became a reality when thirty Teamboards with accompanying
Easiteach software were installed across two campuses using Queensland
company, Videopro Business Centre to undertake the project.
Douglas Hales discovered the potential IWBs had of
enhancing teaching and learning and diligently researched the
technology. IWBNet's Melbourne conference in 2005 was a turning point
for Douglas – it was here that he realised that IWBs were a
must for Koroboro.
Douglas pursued the task of finding a suitable IWB to
introduce into his school and whilst he had a preference for a
soft/finger touch surface, he was open to alternatives. Videopro
Business Centre offered the school some great options, including a
soft, hard and portable IWB solution. The end solution - the Teamboard
IWB coupled with the suite of Easiteach software made a very appealing
proposition due to their ease of use and durability.
With a tailored packaged created to suit the needs of
the school, the goods were delivered and all boards and projectors were
installed by local tradespeople.
Following this, Rachael Twigg, a trained teacher and
Videopro's IWB expert, spent a day at Korobosea training the staff on
the Teamboard and Easiteach's functionality as well as how to use the
technology to enhance classroom pedagogy. It wasn't far into the
training session that the teachers were independently creating
remarkable lessons using the Easiteach software.
A few months down the track, Douglas was excited with
the results:
“The staff are thrilled; they are
going in most rooms for most of the day which is a really promising
start.
Some teachers are doing some exciting
things, the visual arts teacher uses his all day and suddenly his art
class has come alive with references to artists work, discussion about
style, form, perspective and those other important art ideas. He has
been working on a mural outside the classroom and as it has progressed
the children have been photographing their work and adding more design
on the IWB before they add more paint to the wall.
Suddenly the use of the internet has come
alive.
IWB's are a lovely tool and we think we have
made a good choice.”
(Douglas Hales, 1 March 2006)
Koroboro's full school IWB roll out was a first for PNG
and the school continues to enhance its teaching and learning using
their Teamboards, Easiteach and other exciting interactive
technologies.
Notes:
Koroboro International School is situated in Port
Moresby, Papua New Guinea. The school has two campuses - Early
Childhood on the Boroko East site with 540 students from three years to
Grade 2, and the Primary School of 630 Grade 3 to Grade 8 students on
the Korobosea site. The school belongs to a small, private not for
profit system owned by the International Education Agency (IEA) of
Papua New Guinea. The IEA provides significant educational and business
support for the schools it owns. The staff and students are
predominantly Papua New Guineans, all keen to embrace the new
technology. This, coupled with the Principals' passion to maximise
learning outcomes, has created a groundswell of excitement surrounding
IWBs.
Videopro Business Centre recognises the valuable
contribution interactive whiteboards or 'IWBs' can make to classroom
pedagogy and are committed to offering sound advice on the range of
IWBs available. This advice coupled with comprehensive training and
support offers educational institutions the perfect IWB solution. Click here for more information about
